Born in Belgium, Cedric started taking violin lessons at the age of 6 with Wim Meuris & Veerle Van Gorp, founders of the Suzuki violin school named “Kortjakje” in Flanders (BE).
About 10 years later, aged 16, he entered the violin class of Yuzuko Horigome at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (BE), where he obtained his Master’s degree and his pedagogical diploma in 2013.
At the same time, he followed a chamber music specialisation (2007 – 2013) with Daniel Rubenstein and pursued numerous master classes with different renowned teachers and musicians.
Between 2013 and 2015, he studied an additional 2 years in the violin class of Boris Belkin at the Conservatory of Maastricht (NL).
Cedric has been working as a professional violinist in different orchestras since 2011.
As a teacher, Cedric always had a particular interest in the teaching of music and specially the violin. At the age of 19, he started his career as a violin teacher and he has since taught at multiple music schools and ateliers in Belgium.
To complete his pedagogical formation, Cedric actually pursues a Suzuki Teacher Training at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (BE) with Koen Rens, Wilfried Van Gorp, Veerle Van Gorp and Wim Meuris, 4 references on the field of Suzuki teaching. In June 2017, Cedric obtained his 4th level (out of 5) and he is pursuing currently level 5 (2017 – 2018).
Cedric has been teaching the violin according to the Suzuki method for the last 3 years at the Music School of Diest (BE) and he is invited yearly on several international Suzuki Workshops (since 2016).
Cedric has a good knowledge French, English and Dutch (mother tongue). He offers his lessons also in those 3 languages.
